COMMUNITY AT THE HEART
Conservative Town Councillor
Sprowston Town Council has an important role in promoting the town, representing its interests and supporting the work of different groups in the community.
Following a by-election in November 2016 Samantha was elected to become a Sprowston Town councillor.
Sprowston town council represents the local community by delivering different services to meet the needs of local people. It is Samantha's aim to improve the quality of life in the local area.
Money to fund Sprowston town council is mainly raised through the Council Tax. This funding is called a precept. Each year the council will set a budget and decide how much they need to continue providing services, and consider whether to expand their provision including support for the community. This dictates what level of precept is set.
The budget is managed by the town council, supported by the Town Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer.
